Iya Laje
"Mother of the home" in Yoruba. A woman adorned in cowries, chains and beads, her gaze fixed on the horizon - heritage, motherhood and spiritual authority in a single frame. The home extends beyond a physical dwelling into a repository of language, customs and shared histories, with the mother at its emotional and spiritual centre. Reviewed by Independent Nigeria as an archive of inheritance and the spiritual anchor of the home. Exhibited at the RBSA Summer Show 2026 (84 × 59cm, unique edition) and in Aworan: African Lenses, LCB Depot Leicester.
