Aworan: African Lenses

Aworan — the Yoruba word for image — is a body of work built over twelve years of practice between Lagos and the United Kingdom. This Leicester showing brings around twenty-five framed photographic and digital works to the Lightbox Gallery, extending the conversation begun with my solo exhibition at Atirira Gallery, Lagos, and introducing a UK audience to contemporary African photography.

It opens deliberately at the start of UK Black History Month 2026. Entry is free throughout, and everyone is welcome — come for the launch night, or drop in any weekday.

• Launch night: Friday 25 September, 5–10pm
• Exhibition runs: 25 September – 10 October 2026
• Gallery hours: Monday to Friday, 11am–5pm · also open Saturday 10 October
• Where: Lightbox Gallery, LCB Depot, 31 Rutland Street, Leicester LE1 1RE
• Entry: Free — no ticket needed, but an RSVP helps me plan the launch
